Happy Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day!
Today is the 38th annual celebration of the planet we call home, and a day to step back and think about things we can do to preserve and restore our natural resources…
So that’s the official line on Earth Day, but I want to know: what do YOU think about Earth Day?
Is it a time to reflect on accomplishments?
A time to call for more action?
Or something in-between?
Send a post, let us know, then go outside and do something good for the planet.

Offshore drilling, oil sands and energy independence
Lots of environmental talk in the news today.
I’ve also been hearing mentions, from a number of locations, of renewed interest in oil sands. There’s additional information (on both sides of the issue, it appears) here and here.
All this is coming up, surprise, surprise, as fuel prices continue to head north.
So what does it all mean? Is the government taking steps to reach energy independence? Is this merely political showmanship, or big oil pulling the strings? Read the links above (or just turn on the news; it’s a hot topic today) then share your thoughts here.
