Fund raisers to benefit cancer patients

Two fund raisers to support children with cancer will be held soon. The Butterfly Walk will be held Saturday, May 9, at Cottell Park in Deerfield Twp. A team is being assembled to support Leah Jordan, the 10-year-old daughter of Little Miami Junior High teacher Ellen Mason. Registration is $25. To sign up, go to www.butterflywalk.com and search for the team “Luvin’ Leah’s Luv.” The funds will go to Cancer Free Kids for pediatric cancer research. The other event is called the Rat Race and starts at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, April 18, at Nisbet Park in Loveland. Registration is $30, which includes a t-shirt and post-event party. The money will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Hospice of Cincinnati. Kids activities are available before and during the race. Leah’s team will be enter the “Fitness Walkers 5k.” For this event, participants who want to support Leah must register together by contacting Marcy at (513) 673-9288 or mkenny5@cinci.rr.com.
