Little Miami may offer teachers early retirement
Little Miami may offer an early retirement incentive to some teachers, allowing the district to save valuable dollars, school officials said. The Board of Education is reviewing a plan to offer the retirement to certified staff members who have at least 22 years of credit from the teachers’ retirement system. Although the district is only in the beginning stages of formulating the plan, Treasurer Shaun Bevan said the district stands to save $130,000 if eight of the 30 eligible teachers take the deal. Teachers who opt for the plan would receive $40,000, which would be paid monthly over a period of time. If you’re a teacher who is eligible for this plan and interesting in taking the deal, I would like to talk to you. Contact me at 696-4507.
