Teachers gone wild
With allegations coming over the weekend regarding another Mason schools employee being involved in inappropriate actions, the question begging to be asked is, what disciplinary action should be taken against teachers who participate in these activities, ranging from drinking with former students to engaging in sexual acts with under-age students? The public can find out if any teachers have been disciplined for any reason by clicking here.

What actions should be taken? Whatever is appropriate under the law. If a teacher has sex with someone under the age of 16, that would be statutory rape. There is a special category for teachers having sex with those who are their students. There is no law per se prohibiting teachers drinking with former student; maybe it was a student from 20 years ago. However, there is a law prohibiting providing alcohol to those under 21, contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
