Will your child go to China?
Butler Tech students spoke last night about the district’s third trip to China. Students will again have an opportunity to go this year if they attend a Butler Tech campus school or take a Family Consumer Science class at the junior or senior level in associate schools. The students are responsible for about $2,000 to cover half the cost of the trip and Butler Tech picks up the rest. Apparently, the students have to fill out an application and get four teacher recommendations. They then must interview and are selected from the applicants.
If students don’t go to China, they may get a chance this Fall to participate in an exchange program where Chinese students come to Butler County. Butler Tech officials said the Chinese run on a different time frame, and may decide last minute when they will arrive. A team is ready to plan out the trip when they do announce an arrival date.
Have you sent your children on school trips overseas? Do you plan to?
