Liberty Twp. student heads to Cuba

Xavier University has announced that Alyssa Konermann of Liberty Twp. has been awarded a Winter-Cohen Brueggeman Fellowship from the Edward B. Brueggeman Center for Dialogue. Konermann, a junior Spanish major and Peace Studies minor, will be examining the role new Cuban music is playing in creating a new public space for democratic discourse.

Snake kills 2-year-old

A python has killed a 2-year-old girl in Florida. It was a family pet. My colleague from Poynter University in Florida sent me this link in his blog. He pointed out the dangers and the debate of owning exotic pets. Should parents be allowed to keep dangerous animals in the same home as children?
