Custodial staff goes green

It was an experiment that saved the Lakota Local School District time, money and a lot of headaches.

A custodian decided to try out a new “green” cleaner this year. He compared attendance records of students from the two-week trial period to the same time last year. Fewer absenses by teachers and students spoke volumes. This year the custodial staff will be using H2Orange2 — one cleaner rather than the seven prior cleaners. By going to one cleaner from seven types, it is more effective, saves time and money said Laura Kursman, district spokeswoman. “We tested this, it has a green (environmentally-friendly) seal of approval,” she said. “It’s also created and disposed of under the green guidelines.”
