Dayton Christian changes Friday football opponent
The Dayton Christian football team has changed its football opponent for Friday from Oyler to Bishop Ready after a hectic few hours at the school on Tuesday.
Brad Pompos, the Dayton Christian athletic director, said Oyler, a Cincinnati Public Schools high school, canceled the game on Tuesday. The Warriors, who are 7-1, wanted to fill the newly open spot and found a game against Bishop Ready, a Columbus private school.
The 7:30 p.m. Friday game will be played at Hilliard Bradley High School.
The change could actually benefit Dayton Christian if it can win. Despite their record, the Warriors stand 10th in the Division V, Region 20 Harbin points (the top 8 in each region advance to the playoffs). Oyler, a D-VI team, is 1-6. Bishop Ready, a D-IV team, is 4-4.
That could mean a boost in the Harbin points if Dayton Christian can win, or at least much more than Oyler could have provided. The Warriors will close the season against Troy Christian (1-7) in Week 10.
