Coldwater/Kenton season opener not on ESPN

The season-opening football game between Kenton and Coldwater will not be televised on ESPN.

Cavaliers AD Eric Goodwin said that ESPN had considered airing the game, but will not because of a lack of production money on opening weekend.

The non-league game will be played as scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26 at Coldwater.

The Cavaliers (11-4) were the Division V state runner-up last season. Kenton (11-2) lost 35-32 to Alter in the D-IV, Region 16 regional final. Returning for the Wildcats is multiple state and national record-setting QB Maty Mauk.
