Carroll’s Nwankwo excels in GCL meet

Carroll High School senior Michael Nwankwo didn’t have much time in turning in a rare diversified performance at the recent GCL meet at Fenwick.

He won the high jump, won the long jump, was second in the shot put and second in the 110-meter high hurdles. He also was named the field event athlete of the meet. And he did all that in about one hour.

Nwankwo qualified for the D-I state meet last spring in the high jump. He was second in the indoor state triple jump earlier this year.
