Football playoff pairings … we think

Here’s who we think are in … and out … of next week’s football playoffs. These are not official pairings.

These pairings could be affected by the results of Saturday games.

Also, in D-I, Region 4, St. Xavier (7th), Wayne (8th) and Elder (9th) positions are based on Indianapolis Cathedral winning by forfeit over East St. Louis. That affects St. X, which beat Cathedral.

First-round pairings will be released Sunday by the OHSAA. Make certain to check out HS Huddle for the official results. Seeds are in parenthesis.

D-I, Region 3; Saturday, 7 p.m.

(6) Hilliard Darby (8-2) at (3) Springfield (8-2).

(8) Troy (8-2) at (1) Pickerington Central (9-0).

D-I, Region 4; Saturday, 7 p.m.

(5) Centerville (8-2) at (4) Moeller (7-3).

(8) Wayne (7-3) at (1) Middletown (10-0).

Out: Springboro (7-3), Northmont (6-4).

D-II, Region 8; Friday, 7:30 p.m.
