Why wouldn’t you put D1 final locations on here as well? I know that no local team is in but you have to know that there is interest. Why not put all semi-final matchups and locals?

Quit whining about the location. Alter is in Kettering, not Centerville. Half way between Alter and Clinton Massie would be somewhere in the middle of some corn field. Someone is making excuses for a loss already,

Alter isn’ the only school to make it to the third round. Last time I check Trotwood is inthe local area as well and they definitely made it to the third round

Division 1, Region 4 Final between #3 seed Cincinnati Anderson (12-0) and #4 seed Cincinnati Elder (9-2) is at UC Nippert Stadium on Saturday at 7:00. And for Bubba Jo, read the article, Trotwood is listed right on top.

Why not Springboro for Alter/Clinton-Massie? Alter played at Centerville this season, didn’t they? How convenient.

Someone have a guilt complex? I did not read where anyone was complaining about locations. Someone was wondering why the DI sites were not noted. Massie got the rough end of that site. Thats a home game for Alter.

Sounds like the Recruiting Alter fans are a little touchy! If we played in a Corn Field we would use our own Kids.

Hey “Dude”, read the very first comment. If you can’t tell that’s a sarcastic complaint about the game location then you need to take a reading comprehension course. And I’m rooting for C-M in this one but I’m afraid they’re gonna get smoked by Alter.

Eric. Ditto on D-1 Reg 4. WHY the DDN will not put that info down, is beyond me. OH WAIT, No Dayton team in the D-1,R-4 playoff. Never mind. I wonder why they don’t just put all the local teams at Nippert. Big stadium, big game feel and a get all the games for one price. I mean if you are a HS FB watcher, it would be great. See top teams in the area for -Oh Say $15 and make a nice day in Cincy out of it. I know I would go. Lot better then trying to watch 4 games and driving all over to do it. Then they talk about going GREEN. Think of the less Co2 if held in CIncy.

jaypa: You have the locations reversed. Alter played at Springboro, not Centerville. As an Alter fan, though it is quite convenient, I find it a bit unfair for Alter to have such a close Regional final game. While this may be, I do look forward to Saturday just the same. I am confident that it will be an intense game from start to finish and hope for such. In closing, I may not know the Clinton-Massie fans, nor do I know any other fan who has posted about Alter on here. What I do know is whether you cheer for the Falcons, Knights, Elks, Rams—whoever—you should keep in mind the one thing that sets high school football apart from any other level of play: it’s unpredictable. Any team can lose on any given night, for any reason. This can even be said for my Knights. Alter does not recruit. There is no reward for playing sports other than a varsity letter and the ability to say that you were an Alter Knight. Alter is just like any other school whether it be public or private. The students are much more disciplined and goal oriented. They care about each other. They care about the game. They care about their future. This is what has made the program so successful. And please understand that while I do have an Alter bias, I swear on my life that any team can do what Alter has done, if they just listened to their heart and work hard all the way until the end.

Corn Field sounds like he is vitamin deficient. Keep rooting for the recruiters bud you’ll be a happier dimwit.

Hey “Happy”, try taking some of those vitamins yourself. Although I have no connection to either school, I’m rooting for Clinton-Massie. I like the underdogs. It does seem like their regular fans on here like to complain about trivial things like the game location. They also seem to be paranoid and think everyone else is an Alter fan. I guess if they lose they’ll end up blaming everyone that was out to get them.

AlterFan, sure HS football is unpredictable, but so is any sport at any level, that’s why we love athletics so much. I respect your love for your school and team, but I don’t want to hear the “we don’t recruit” cries from parochial school supporters. I grew up with 2 friends that went to a local private high school to play ball…tuition free. I am not arguing the educational benefits and structure these students receive at private schools, but they do recruit and that is not an opinion. I will always support the public schools who find success with players who have grown up together in THEIR hometown. What an accomplishment that is for those players, coaches and community to have success, or even win a championship. I go to Canton/Massillon every year for the state finals and watch the private schools roll in with their hand-picked teams and win state titles. It isn’t a fair playing field.

Giving Alter a home game in Centerville is not good. How does this kind of thing happen?

The Coldwater football program is a machine. The coach (John Reed) is amazing. How they continue to dominate year in and year out is incredible. I do believe they could beat Centerville, just like they did Alter 2 years ago. Centerville is always getting beat by a superior Cincy school. They will never be a big time program as long as Ron Ullery is there.

Corn Field is an avid Wayne Newton Fan, he does not even leave his house on Fridays, we know who he is, he watches the Wheel on Friday nights but he is a great guy!

Jaypa, These kids HAVE grown up together. Go to Alters website and look at these kids Jr High schools. Almost all of these kids have been going to these 3 schools since Kindergarten. I don’t think you will though, because that’ll blow your theory and your excuses for your team losing. The reason Alter is successful, along with Coldwater, Marion local, and other consistently great programs is not by bringing in great players, it’s making the players you have great. This comes from dedication, preparation and hard work. You don’t get it, and that’s why your team will never be more than occasional winners!

stop whining, who is my team? I am speaking for the public schools that do not have their pick of the talent in a specific area. I have never doubted the dedication and hard work of the boys that play for private schools, I know because I grew up with some that left their hometown to attend Alter. Obviously, your team is successful each year, but I imagine there are a lot of schools that could be just as successful with boys from “Centerville, Kettering, Miamisburg, West Carrollton, Springboro, Oakwood and Bellbrook.” Those were the school districts coach Domsitz named when asked about the number of players on Alter’s football team.
