Elda names spelling bee champ

On Friday, May 21, 2010 Elda Elementary School had its annual spelling bee. There were four students from each fourth grade classroom who qualified for the contest.
After ten rounds and many words spelled, it was down to Sarah Stone from Mrs. Ward’s class and Alexus Sponseller from Mr. Kiefer’s class. After going back and forth several times, Alexus (above) was victorious after correctly spelling the words “sincerely” and “dollars”.
