Impound lot vote likely tonight

City Council will likely vote on Hamilton owning its own impound lot at its meeting tonight, according to Mayor Don Ryan.

The city’s contracted towing companies are obviously unhappy with the plan, which could negatively impact their businesses. Read about their complaints here.

The city manager had the police hand deliver letters to the towing companies Monday afternoon. Read the letter here: LETTER FROM CITY.PDF

Though, even before receiving the letters, the owners expressed to me that they would be at Wednesday’s meeting. Ryan said he wasn’t surprised that the owners were coming to the meeting tonight.

“I’d be there if I was them,” he said.

The meeting will start with a work session at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at 345 High Street.
