Two Montg. Co. Grants
The Montgomery County Solid Waste District (Ohio) has just released two grants.
The first is a Keep Montgomery County Beautiful Beautification grant. Up to $250 is available to eligible groups (Montg. Co, OH 501c3s, KMCB Adopt-an-Area groups, groups posting on the United Way’s Volunteer Connection website - see grant for further details). The $250 can be used toward the purchase of plants and plant material, to promote volunteerism and community beautification. Application deadline is March 1, 2010.
The Recycling Incentive Grant is open to Montgomery County municipalities, schools and non-profits. An endorsement letter is required for schools and non-profits from their local jurisdiction. Funding can be used to for any of the following projects Recycling, Waste Reduction, Litter Prevention, Composting Opportunities and End use Markets of Recycled Materials. Interested applicants must attend a mandatory briefing session to be held on February 4, 2010 at 9:00 am. Location: 2550 Sandridge Drive, Dayton, OH 45439. Up to $150,000 can be applied for. Actual awards will vary based upon proposed projects and the total number submitted. For additional information, call the RECYCLE HOTLINE at 225-4999 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Application deadline is March 31, 2010.
