Edison names four finalists for next president
PIQUA - Edison Community College trustees have picked four finalists as candidates to lead the school as its fourth president.
Sean Creighton, Bradley Ebersole, Sarah Garrett and Cristobal Valdez will tour both the Piqua and Dark County campuses; meet with staff and interview with trustees later this month.
Creighton is the head of the Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education, a local college advocate, and a Yellow Springs school board member. Ebersole is the vice president for academic affairs at Baton Rouge Community College in Louisiana. Garrett holds a similar post at Bristol Community College in Fall River Massachusetts. Valdez is a provost for Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
Judy Hartman, trustee vice chair and head of the search committee called the candidates “exceptional.” She said the school would name its new president by the end of February. They will replace Kenneth Yowell who is retiring in April after 23 years as president of Edison.
