Flyers beat Richmond for 23rd win
Chris Wright scored 17 points and 10 rebounds and London Warren 10 points and six assists to lead Dayton to a 69-63 win over stubborn Richmond on Saturday.
The Flyers (23-3, 9-2 Atlantic 10) led by as many as 13 in the second half, but the Spiders (12-13, 4-6) cut the deficit to four with 5:45 left. UD, though, held on to move into a tie with Xavier for first place in the league with five games to go.

Now they have a whole week to practice foul shots. With made foul shots this game wouldn’t even have been close. I would call this a depressing win.By Thomas

Man, was that game ugly but I’ll take the W. Richmond is a horrible team when you consider they lost a god awful St. Louis. But, a win is a win.By FaithfulFlyer65

A win is a win. However, can anyone explain to me why Chris Johnson doesn’t play more minutes? Especially in a game where Richmond fouled continually and CJ is the best free throw shooter on the team.By the rosser

Didn’t see the game from here in Taiwan, but am happy with the win. Now, hopefully, they can crack the top 25. Go Flyers!By Dontonio

I agree with you there… St Louis is pathetic, they lost to the worst team in the Horizon League (Detroit).By Dontonio

The only problem they have is they play down to the bad teams. That will cause them to overlook somebody and make it a short “dance”.By Greg

BG may be trying to keep CW’s stats down so he won’t bolt to the NBA or a BCS school. If that is the strategy, then I like it.By doug

First - Greg, that’s insane and I am sick of the Chris Wright transfering wrap again. Second - a win is a win at this point in the season. Just win babyBy UD Hoops

What’s with all the complaining? Dayton played a pretty good game tonight except for free throws. They dominated the second half in a game where one of their two best players took a night off and the officials called everthing. Paul Williams is starting to look really good. 23-3. They can enjoy the week off, their top 25 ranking, and prepare to win at least 1 of the next 2 road games.By Rich

Some confusion in the comments. CW played 29-30 minutes, which is what he normally plays. Chris Johnson only played 12 minutes. However, after watching him play, he seemed to be very confused as to where he was to line up offensively. I think he has great potential, but wonder if he is hitting the “rookie wall”. Agree with the comments on PW and the terrible FT shooting. Got to give it up to Mickey Perry—he seems to have really improved his defensive game.By amy katz

It’s funny how most people writing about Dayton forget that we HAVE 23 WINS AT THIS POINT!!! When is the last time Dayton had this many wins at this point in a season!? Stop your crying and whining!By Henry

I think CW leaves for the NBA if we do something in the NCAA tourney. Otherwise, we probably keep him another year. I’d be very surprised if he stay 4 years.By sec 312

Rich, good observation on Mikey Perry. He is playing great D and becoming more aggressive on Offense as well. I thought earlier in the season he was in his own head. Now, he doesn’t hesitate as much on his shot. Good to see Perry stepping up as we approach the tourney….
