Flyers hold on for one-point win

Chris Wright had 16 points and Charles Little 14 to lead cold-shooting Dayton to a 47-46 win over Saint Louis on Thursday night.

The Flyers (19-2, 5-1 Atlantic 10) were 18-for-55 from the field (33 percent) and 0-for-11 from 3-point range, but they forced the Billikens (11-9, 2-4) into 19 turnovers.

Saint Louis had the final shot of the game, but Kwamain Mitchell missed a drive in traffic with three seconds left.

Very bad offense tonight, on both the coaching and players. We should have posted up Chris Wright and Chris Johnson all night long. That said, they got the win. One thing to be hopeful about is how this team responds after poor shooting performances. Bad against Auburn, come back against Marquette and play great. Bad against Fordham, great against Duquesne. Bad against St. Louis….good UD on Sunday, right?

It doesn’t matter how we win. 19 wins is 19 wins whether we win by 1point or 50points. Why is anyone complaining?? UD is 19-2!!! That’s one good season so far!

WoW. I tuned in the UD Flyers hoop game tonight and somehow saw “The Dayton Bricklayers” Annual Convention. Some of those shots in the end were Rec Center quality. Scarey bad. But Marcus pulled off a freak alley-Op jam and then a steal. That’s pure talent.ESPN Top 10 finish.

Defense wins basketball games. Every team has at least a few games a year where the shots just arn’t falling. You can ALWAYS play good D. Thats how BG has buitl this team. Athletic players who can defend and drive o the hoop. Great job so far Flyers! Lets get us some in the field of 65!

It is such a great feeling to see that the Flyers Men’s Hoops program getting the job done. No matter how pretty, or ugly the win, it’s still a victory. I am glad that our local talent has the opportunity and also getting an excellent education. Go Flyers!!!
