Snow not expected to impact Saint Louis’ trip

The Saint Louis men’s basketball team is scheduled to leave for Dayton on a charter flight at 6:30 p.m. Central time today, and Chuck Yahng, the school’s sports information director, doesn’t believe the heavy snowfall will affect the Billikens’ travel plans.

Dayton hosts Saint Louis at 8 p.m. Thursday.

“It has stopped snowing here,” Yahng said Wednesday morning. “It’s just a matter of whether they’re able to clear off all the snow. We still have nine more hours before we have to leave. I’m anticipating we should be OK.”

Saint Louis’ charter flight is scheduled to land at the Wright Bros. Aero facility next to the Dayton International Airport at 9:30 p.m.

“We still have planes taking off and landing,” said Katie Mitchell of Wright Bros. Aero Inc. “As long as the snow stops around noon (as predicted), they should be fine.”

The UD women’s team hosts George Washington tonight. A UD spokesman said GW has already arrived in town, and the game will be played as scheduled.

UD fans, you want respect?? Go get a decent OOC schedule! You’re 18-2 & only getting 18 votes in coach’s poll! Why do you think that is? Next, try and beat X sometime!! You’re a lousy 0-6 in last 2 years! GO XU!!

Last year UD had the top OOS SOS and the best overal SOS in the A-10. This year we have fallen victim to teams that looked like they’d be 150-200 RPI but turned out to be 300 RPI. The SOS is overrated as UD would have been 150-200 RPI teams just as easily as they did the 300 RPI teams. Marquette is every bit the team that XU is.

I agree, x fans evidently just say what they want to hear, no matter what the topic. Oh yeah, maybe he / she should check the overall historical record between the 2 schools. If he / she stays interested in b-ball long enough things usually cycle around and change. I hope St Louis arrives without issues. There is nothing worse then a bad plane ride, ask the people on that US Air flight in NY. That was one heck of a landing.

I agree that Huelsman can contribute in different ways to help his team. I like him and believe that he is a good person with a strong work ethic. But please, don’t attempt to get him to contribute offensively. That’s just not his bag, and I blame the coach for having his players force the ball into Huelsman in the low post. That’s just not a smart strategy. KH should forget about trying to score and help the team in the areas when he has assets, like defense and rebounding. When he gets the ball low, other than from an offensive rebound, he should throw it back out to an open player for a 3-point shot as quick as he can. Whatever he does, he should not put it on the floor unless he has a 6 foot or smaller player guarding him.

St Louis is god awful, they lost to Detroit from the Horizon League and Detroit has not won a game in the HL. They are just plain horrible.

After our game with St Louis, our SoS is going to drop, maybe below 300.

Detroit may be the worst team in the Horizon League, but they are ranked ahead of Fordham. I would not worry that St Louis lost to Detroit. They will still be a challenge and we can’t overlook anyone.

I know that St Louis is not very good and we will kill them. I just hope we get another year out of Chris Wright before he bolts for a BCS school or the NBA.

I usually don’t miss too many home games but I’m staying home tomorrow night and will be sitting by the fireplace listening to Bucky. We should beat St Louis pretty handily and I’ll be nice and warm at home.

St. Louis did beat Boston College and do have a winning record. There are worse teams.

Martin, just because St Louis lost to Detroit and Detroit is the last place team in the Horizon League does not mean that the Bilikins are “god awful”. Detroit has quite a bit of talent and it was played in Detroit which is a very tough place to play.
