Half-naked woman accused of spitting at police, kicking out cruiser window

A 20-year-old female is in the Montgomery County Jail accused of disorderly conduct that included screaming in the middle of the street without her shirt on, swearing and spitting at a police officer, and damaging City of Dayton property.

Police first encountered Ashlie Mansfield when they were called to the 800 block of Oak Leaf Drive at 4:51 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a large group of people fighting.

According to a police report, Mansfield and another female were involved in a physical altercation and a group of males were trying to break it up. The other female left the scene in a vehicle immediately after being separated by police. Mansfield allegedly continued to scream at people, yelling obscenities and racial slurs. Her shirt had been ripped off in the altercation and she was only wearing a bra and pants.

Police officers were able to get a friend to remove her from the scene in a vehicle and the males on scene said they did not need further assistance.

But half an hour later, police were called back to the same block. A female called and said there were two males who possibly had weapons trying to fight her. She said they had taken her phone and money.

When police arrived, however, they did not find anyone fighting. Instead they found Mansfield back in the middle of the street screaming, wearing nothing but her pants.

When officers tried to take her into custody for disorderly conduct, she resisted being handcuffed, then spit in an officer’s face twice, according to the report.

Once inside the back of a police cruiser, she allegedly started kicking the door and window, eventually kicking the window out of the frame and damaging the frame.

She has been charged with harassment with a bodily substance, a fifth degree felony, for spitting at the officer. She could also face charges of felony vandalism and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
