Road rage ‘mistake’ comes with an assault charge
At the very least, this suspect admitted the error of his ways.
The 52-year-old victim was driving on Interstate 675 during the Monday morning rush hour when he apparently cut off the 38-year-old suspect in traffic, causing him to come very close to losing control as he was forced to slam on his brakes, according to the police report.
The suspect then followed the victim onto U.S. 35, exiting onto Woodman and from there to the parking lot of the Hasty Tasty Pancake House.
There the suspect confronted the victim. The confrontation escalated from heated verbal to physical when the suspect pushed the victim to the ground, kicked him in the head and pummeled him with his fists, the victim told police.
Total damage to the victim was a scrapped forehead and a cracked tooth.
Damage to the suspect was getting cuffed, arrested and hauled off to the county lockup. He now faces misdemeanor assault charges when he faces a judge.
The suspect said without prompting, “I know I made a mistake.”
