Man’s robbery attempt refused by worker scooping ice cream
It sounded more like a parent speaking to their young child than an attempted unarmed robbery.
According to the man scooping the ice cream at the Ben and Jerry’s on Brown Street, a customer entered around 8 p.m. Saturday and took his place in line at the busy ice cream emporium.
When it was the customer’s turn, he ordered a milk shake. When the shake was shook, the man scooping the ice cream told him how much he ownd.
The ice cream scooper told police the customer then slid a yellow Wendy’s napkin across the counter. On the napkin was scrawled the message, “Give me all the 20s.”
The ice creamer scooper said, “No.”
The customer — now robber — asked, “Why not?”
The ice cream scooper replied, “Just because.”
The customer/robber then fled the store.
No word on what flavor milk shake was ordered.
