Kyle, Lucan, Lou, why don’t you report more on the crime in Kettering and Englwood. Both these communities have seen exponential rises in their crime rate. You also need to allow comments after each story.

I agree “Denial” - with all of the Section 8 housing coming into the commnunities of Kettering and Englewood, the crime has definitely skyrocketed!

I’ve noticed that Santa Clara/Wheatley area is often mentioned in recent crimes. I’m glad the DPD finally started targeting that area. Lock them up and keep them there until they’ve learned a lesson. It’s a shame that dealers are directing buyers to a church to buy drugs…that’s such a respectable church and church family. We’re all praying for the City of Dayton.

Y’all kill me.Why do whites continue to act like crime isn’t in their commnity. It is and it always has been, and not because of section 8 housing. Did section 8 have to do with why y’all kill your wife and kids after y’all lose your job? Or y’all kids shooting up schools? I didn’t think so.

Before you go and make comments on who is killing who, you might want to look up the statistics on whites killing whites and the statistics on blacks killing blacks, you might get a rude awakening, y’all.

Oh you are so right. What does section 8 housing have to do with crime. I lived in kettering for 20 years and the Shroyer Rd. area was never a problem until section 8 housing moved in…..oh wait a minute. I guess I was wrong. Crime DID go up when section 8 housing took over. Never mind.

Ok bakari you can look up the statistics in any area of the U.S. and the number one killer in male and female black youth’s is black males. No where did I say that whites do not commit crimes. Sight the statistics that support whites as the biggest criminal/terrorist since 1492. That way you can post facts instead of what you think you know.

Second of all, you might want to refresh yourself with the statistics of black on black crime and familiarize yourself with where the highest crime rates actually are and what environmental factors play into crime.

Drug dealers make good money and they like to maintain a normal existance so it doesn’t arouse suspicion. Section 8 housing knows all races. The ones that need it the most can’t get it because those who know how to beat the system are taking their place.I know someone who must sleep on her mother’s living room floor with her 3 kids because she can’t get section 8 qualified. Crime is everywhere. I work in the legal system. No neighborhood is exempt.

no neighborhood is exempt and no one is saying it is. no one is saying that crime knows color distinction either. no one is saying whites never commit crimes and no one is saying Kettering has never experienced anything criminal, but looking at a map… Beavercreek, Kettering, and oakwood and areas similar are as a whole safer areas than parts of dayton and section 8 (no matter what race it is comprised of) pose problems for the area.

Bakari, Facts! For every 100,000 black males in the US there are 4,777 of them in jail/prison somewhere. Black males are 2 times more likley to go to jail than finish High School. For every 100,000 white males there are only 727 in jail/prison. The problems are right in front of everyone but nobody wants to admit to them. Its too easy for everyone to blame someone else. And I’m not talking about white/black/yellow or any one color. There’s NO RESPECT,OR RESONSIBILITY TAKEN FOR ONE’S OWN ACTIONS AND LAST NOBODY WANTS TO WORK! What can i get for free! Well let me just have another baby and that adds to my monthly government check. I hear so many people “well i cant find work” chances are they didnt look very hard. It’s my opinion that if someone “fails” in this contry its no ones fault but their own. We make our own choices and if you break the law you pay the price. PEROID! Tell the young people to get their lazy a*s’s off the street and go to school , get an education and be resposible. Gotta agree with most of the posts here Bakari .. you chose to draw the race card on this one. Since you are so “UP” on your facts you ought to be able to read hard facts about the current state of this country and look around and see where everything is all boarded up .. and in what neighborhoods you see that trend. As for your comments about whatever whites call themselves today .. we aren’t the ones that started with the hyphenated label. I was born in America so I am an American. I have a German and Irish background but have never called myself German American or Irish American. But because everyone must be so “PC” these days and make the EEOC and the NAACP happy we now are caucasion and african american, latin american .. it isn’t black, white, mexican, etc. They are the ones who chose to call it out and make people label themselves. And as far as your history lesson we are talking wars, and people from 100’s of years ago.. the ignorance and fear of old times .. and the dictatorships of mad men .. not modern day society as we know it where people have evolved and become more educated. Crime is in fact a part of all society’s and race .. but facts are facts. And the crime rate in black communities far outweighs the rest. That is not my fault or any other race’s fault .. its solely the blame of the black communities. If young blacks would go to school, learn to speak right, get jobs and be productive citizens instead of stealing, selling drugs, having babies in order to collect free assistance from the government and Stop using the race and slavery crutch as if somebody owes them something because someone in their family tree 200 years ago was a slave, they would earn the respect of others same as everyone else has had to do.
