The color of orange in Warren County

While the orange barrels are falling in Butler County, I found out last night that Warren County still has a long way to go.

First of all Ohio 63 just west of the Lebanon city limits is down to one lane (with a traffic light) as they work there. You will be stuck in traffic, so if you can’t re-route, plan on sitting for quite a long time.

If you head over to Mason from Lebanon, as I did last night, you will encounter a huge construction tie up on U.S. 42 near Hanover Road just north of town. This is a mess in both directions, so I would find another way to Mason if possible. I would route back across 63 to I-75. Its longer mileage-wise, but it moves.

My next big delay came on Tylersville Road as I headed from Mason to West Chester. Tylersville, in Warren County just east of the Butler County line, has tons of orange barrels, so you will once again lose much time! (by sitting and sitting and sitting!)

The good news is that when I crossed back into Butler County the barrels were gone. I can honestly say it was good to be home. My lessons learned were to avoid U.S. 42 at ALL costs, and I did gain an appreciation for the fine job the Butler County crews have done in finishing their work before the weather turns cold. Thanks guys!
