Surprisingly easy drive around UC
Driving during midday is so different from driving during rush-hour traffic in the morning and late afternoon. It seems less frantic and the slower pace allows for looking anew at familiar things.
Yesterday a medical exam took me out of the office mid-morning and into Clifton. Before heading into Clifton I picked up hubby in Winton Place and then headed to Clifton via Spring Grove Avenue to Clifton Avenue.
On Clifton Avenue work crews are repairing the road after a major water main break, so there is a detour onto some of the loveliest streets in the city — Lafayette and Middleton. Here on these city streets we saw such beautiful, stately homes with nicely groomed gardens and interesting old architecture. A few “for sale signs made us look twice at several homes.
I thought it would be a nightmare on the roads around Clifton because it was the first day of classes for University of Cincinnati students, but I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of commute.
The worst part of the mid-morning commute was navigating the stupid parking garage of the medical office building at Good Samaritan Hospital! What a maze!
The midday commute was a necessary break from normal office routine and with the current great weather, a lovely escape from office air!
