A not always Fab Four of trailers
There are lots of new trailers riding around on the web - and sadly enough, the best one is a fake movie mash-up.
Live Free or Die Hard: As expected, there’s lots of stuff blowing up real good here, and there are some spectacular shots, but … something seems off to me. Having McClane pal around in the city with a sidekick reminds me of Die Hard with a Vengeance, which I thought was stupid, even for this genre. We’ve seen so many action movies amped with super CGI effects now, this franchise just looks like everything else out there. I’m kinda intrigued, but not thrilled.
Shrek the Third: Actually, this trailer has been out for awhile now, but I included it here, because like Live Free or Die Hard, this looks underwhelming too. Oh sure, there are some good gags, but this looks like a case of same ol’ same ol’. And the Shrek movies have been overpraised anyway. Every time I see copy declaring Shrek 2 “the most popular comedy of all time,” I just cringe. Box-office wise, that may be true, quality-wise, it ain’t even CLOSE. I’m sure this movie will make many greenbacks, but I still don’t sense a great clamor for the third film, compared to, say, the third Pirates or Spider-Man movies. Am I wrong?
Transformers: Caught this TV spot during American Idol last night. VERY snazzy effects, I must admit. But we knew the movie would have those. I stand by my earlier post declaring this movie isn’t going to be cool as people think it is.
And finally, this is my favorite movie mash-up I’ve seen in a long time: The Beatles take on the zombies! (No, not the other British Invasion group, I mean the flesh-eating kind!)
With a bite like that, you know you should be mad ….

I’m dreading Shrek 3.. I’m sure it will be as dreadful as Austin Powers 3. Mike Myers needs to branch out a bit.By SRCputt

Well, at least we now know McClane prefers a Mac to a PC…
