Bengals terminate safety Dexter Jackson
JACKSON AMONG 4 PLAYERS
SENT PACKING BY BENGALS
Just call it “addition by subtraction.”
The Cincinnati Bengals on Friday, March 6, terminated the contract of strong safety Dexter Jackson, releasing him to free agency.
They also waived three players — guard James Blair, cornerback Marcus Brown and defensive end Victor DeGrate.
Jackson, an 11th-year NFL player in 2009, played the last three seasons for the Bengals, seeing action in 29 games with 28 starts.
Jackson was the team’s No. 1 trash-talker — known for his mouth, high opinion of himself … and not much else. But he can tell his grand kids he was a Super Bowl MVP for Tampa Bay.
He was limited to three games in 2008, due to thumb and hamstring injuries. He logged 162 tackles in his three Bengals seasons, with three INTs, 11 passes defensed, three fumble recoveries, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
Blair, Brown and DeGrate are all classified first-year players in 2009. Each was on the Bengals practice squad for a portion of 2008, and each had been signed to the 2009 offseason roster on Dec. 30.
Blair is from Western Michigan, Brown is from McNeese State, and DeGrate is from Oklahoma State.

Roy Williams needs to get arrested first so he can catch Mikey’s fancy.
