How ‘bout the Utah Utes? And, yes, I’m geeked for NFL’s Wild Card Weekend

‘SLY’ & C.J. WILSON JUST BECAME

TWO PROSPECTS ON NFL RADAR

Pardon the interruption, but I just fell in love with Utah junior outside linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (6-2, 224) and East Carolina defensive end C.J. Wilson (6-4, 271).

And I’m wondering two things:

Wilson

Sylvester

Will they declare for the 2009 NFL Draft?

And …

Are the Cincinnati Bengals paying attention?

I was tremendously impressed by both players in their Bowl games on Friday, especially their pass-rushing ability.

NFL WILD CARD WEEKEND

My picks: Arizona and Indianapolis on Saturday, Baltimore and Philadelphia on Sunday.

I like Arizona QB Kurt Warner’s experience, Colts QB Peyton Manning’s talent and leadership, the Ravens’ awesome defense and the Eagles’ team speed on both sides of the ball.

ANOTHER REASON TO LIKE THE EAGLES

“Girls Next Door” Playboy playmate Kendra Wilkinson is engaged to Philadelphia Eagles star Hank Baskett. She tells McNabb to throw Hank the ball.

“Are the Cincinnati Bengals paying attention?” Have they seen the SD Chargers this year and even yesterday? The main “constant” over the last 17 years in Bengaldom has been MB, KB and TB. Have they seen other NFL teams have a few “bad” years and still come back to be playoff contenders? Maybe these Cincinnati leaders just crawl back into their hole when the season ends in December and they don’t realize the NFL continues in January and Feburary for the best NFL teams. Are the Cincinnati Bengals paying attention? It seems the upper management is sastisfied that they haven’t had the regular season “blackouts” in a long time.

Well, ya know. In that light, I wonder who will be the first team to be in the playoffs from this point in time? Cincinnati or Detroit?
