Is there a neighborhood watch group where you live?
Is there a neighborhood watch group where you live?
BREE LANGEMO, Dayton: “We’re from St. Anne’s Hill Historic District, and we have sort of an informal network. When crime picks up, we’ll send an e-mail around. Sometimes neighbors take turns taking bike rides or walking patrols at night. But it’s nothing consistent.”
VINCENT ALEXANDER, Kettering: “I just moved to my neighborhood, so I’m not sure. My neighbors do seem to talk to each other, though. If I had time and it worked with my busy schedule, I would join one. They’re definitely a good idea.”
DONNA WINCHESTER, Dayton: “I live in the DeWeese Ridgecrest neighborhood, and we have a wonderful neighborhood watch. It’s organized and active, in cooperation with the Dayton police. We have e-mail alerts and updates. But it’s more than just about crime. They send e-mails out about lost animals and other things, too.”
MICHELLE BENTON, Clayton: “No. I live in a real small, quiet area in Clayton. I’ve lived there all my life, and everyone knows everyone. We all kind of watch out for each other.”
LUANA WALLACE, Lewisburg: “We don’t have a neighborhood crime watch, but the police chief lives three doors down, and the neighbors seem to look out for one another.”
