Where’s the best place to go for a picnic?

LINDSAY GOLD

LINDSAY GOLD, Tipp City: “Just recently we discovered Stillwater Prairie Reserve near Covington. What’s great is that down by the river it has flat rocks that you can sit on and dangle your feet in the water. And there are picnic tables in the shade and walking trails.”

MIKE CARTER

MIKE CARTER, Huber Heights: “Cloud Park in Huber Heights. It has sprinklers. It’s a good place to take the kids.”

HEATHER NYE

HEATHER NYE, Riverside: “We go to Eastwood MetroPark off Woodman Drive. There are ducks that entertain the boys, and a playground and a big open space where they can run and run and run. They like hiking the trails and the woods. And we can go bike riding over there, too.”

JOHN FLERCHINGER

JOHN FLERCHINGER, Beavercreek: “There’s Royal Pointe Park in Beavercreek. That’s a good one.”

ANGELA TROUP

ANGELA TROUP, Rockwell, Texas: “We used to live here, but it’s been a long time. There was a park between the McDonald’s and the high school in Beavercreek that I liked. It had lots of swings and a super long slide. The kids would bring wax paper to go zooming down the slide.”

The Miamisburgs Mound Park. Shelter houses for cover, the Mound, with a great view of Miamisburg. You can watch golfers as they hit the little white ball. Play ground slides and swings. OK The play ground was much better until a few yearas ago, They had a Merry Go round that had a handle on it, you could really move on it and had to watch what you ate before getting on it. Or else.. Ugg. Still a good place to be Yogi and Boo Boo..

Your own backyard. No gas money needed. Bathrooms handy. Safe drinking water supply. No stray dogs. Convenient location. You get first ribs on the picnic table. No panhandlers!

@trash Who mentioned kids? Orchardly park in Oakwood is a manic maze of cheap and ugly play crap! Hate it!

Community Park in Huber was the place in the 1970s. Kinda like Alice’s Restaurant. You could get anything you wanted.

I use to love going to CJ Brown in Springfield. They have a nice lake/beach. But in the last few years, the bathrooms have been trashed by homeless illegals living in the area. Now I find it kind of scary. Too bad.

The front lawn of The Wright brothers House on Park Ave. in Oakwood……until the staff and the Oakwood Police run you off. I was able to take a bite out of one watercress sandwich…and wasn’t able to quaff my chardonnay…being interupted by irate property owners backed up by Skippy & Biff from the OPD. I was miffed! I didn’t get a bite out of my cucumber sandwich, either!!!!
