Soda pop has absolutely no nutrition in it—only unhealthy calories and chemicals. I haven’t had soda pop in years. It either has phony sweeteners or High Fructose Corn Syrup in it, and either way,…it’s like drinking poison. This country needs to pressure the FDA to get active and outlaw these chemicals. No good can come of them. The U.S. is addicted to the sweet taste, and the giant food industry loves that—one huge reason we have the diabetes rates we have, and they’re the highest in the WORLD!!! Watch the movie, “Food,Inc.” or the documentary, “King Corn” or “EAT”. Food is BIG BUSINESS, and we are all it’s pawns. Wake up and BEWARE! Sugar is addictive; find out when you try to wean yourself off it.

People are entitled to eat & drink whatever they want. It’s about LIFE CHOICES! This is AMERICA & we have the FREEDOM to make those choices! :] As for myself, I only will drink 2 at max cans of soda a day. I usually drink one in the morning when I wake up & one while watching tv at night. The rest of the day is water or juice!

Food Police sounds like a good idea! It’s one thing to know what effect certain chemicals have on the human body, but it’s another to not be told and to have a whole industry insert HFCS into most foods. The people of this country should have been told what HFCS is—it’s pro’s and con’s. We should have freedom, not fraud. The crooks are out there, and like most crooks, they don’t want you to know they’re there!

Gregory, your comment is ignorant at best and unenlightened at least. No one is going to check your cart for all the hazardous waste crap you put in your body. Go for it! suck it down and suffer the results, but don’t ever say you were not warned.

I will occasionally have a pop and consider it a treat just like when we were kids and mom would buy some coke on Fridays, (one each) and that was it for the whole week. People who suck down pop all day are not much different than crack addicts. Would you supply your kids with crack? Then why push the soda?

Ever notice the barrage of commercials selling dog and cat food that is loaded with nutrients for your pets? Just how is it that parents of a household will be sure to check the nutrition evaluation for the dog’s food before even considering what they give to their own flesh and blood? Remember, we are animals too and need good food for our bodies.

1-The first respondent to this poll (Chris) will soon be diagnosed with diabetes. 2-The first blogger (JEC) is wrong re: her belief that HFCS is NOT a poison nor is it a chemical. It contains no artificial or synthetic ingredients or color additives and meets the Food and Drug Administration’s requirements for use of the term “natural”. 3-I no longer drink soda.

The above should say: “her belief that HFCS IS a poison and a chemical” It is NEITHER a poison OR a chemical. Please educate yourself before speaking.
