Will Ellen DeGeneres be a good “American Idol” judge?
MICHAEL ROWAN, West Carrollton: “Yes and no. Yes, because she’ll be incredibly entertaining because of her sense of humor. Her and Simon together will be a blast. No, because I don’t think she’s qualified whatsoever to be a judge for ‘American Idol.’ She has no vocal ability, no musical talent; she can’t even dance.”
JOANIE TOROK, Springboro: “Sure. I think she’ll really be entertaining. The judges have to be entertaining.”
LUDESTA GRIFFIN, Huber Heights: “I would say yes and no. She doesn’t have much experience with recording artists and judging people’s performances. On the other hand, she doesn’t criticize people too hard. She’s a comedian, so that should make the show a little better. But at least Paula (Abdul) had dancing and video performance experience.”
DANIELLE BIELLER, Franklin: “Yes. It’s Ellen — I just love Ellen. Ellen rocks.”
LEON POST, St. Henry: “She’ll be fine. She’ll be great. She likes talking with people, and she gets along with people really well. I’ll miss Paula a little bit, but DeGeneres will be a little better. Abdul can go back to singing.”
RYAN BERGER, Miamisburg: “Sure, I guess. I think she’s funny.”

I cannot believe they chose Ellen D to be a judge. She knows absolutely nothing about music and singing. I have always enjoyed watching ordinary people compete in this competition; but, like “Tony” I will NOT watch “Idol” this year. I hope their ratings suffer because of this incredibly poor decision.
