Once the Ohio casinos open, will you try them out?

LORI JOHNSON

LORI JOHNSON, West Carrollton: “Oh, yeah. I went to Indiana casinos before. I’d probably go to Cincinnati, maybe Columbus.”

SUSAN MEYER

SUSAN MEYER, Clayton: “No, because I figure out how long I would have to work to earn what I’m going to spend there, and I lose my motivation.”

BRAD SHINKLE

BRAD SHINKLE, Kettering: “Yeah, probably. I had gone out of state before, but I probably wouldn’t now, since they will be closer.”

DENISE PETERSON

DENISE PETERSON, Kettering: “No. I don’t think gambling is a good thing. It can do a lot of damage to people who can’t control it, as well as their families.”

ddnchatStewSheckler.JPG
STEW SHECKLER

STEW SHECKLER, Bellbrook: “Maybe. I never went to the out-of-state casinos, but I grew up in Kentucky, and I have gambled at the horse races there.”

KIM TAYLOR

KIM TAYLOR, Clearcreek Twp.: “Probably not. I just don’t enjoy gambling. I think it’s great for the economy, and I think it’ll bring jobs in; even if they come from out of state, the workers will still be renting and buying food and goods to help the economy of Ohio.”

Patronize: to adopt an air of condescension toward : treat haughtily or coolly. Using that definition, Hellz yeah I’ll patronize them.

NO! I have more sense than that! This Tuesday, a couple of guys and I are gonna drive and ride to Liberty, Indiana, to invest in the POWERBALL lottery, and then dine fine and not whine. To wisely diversify, we also invest in the MegaMillions too. Howboutchoo?

Are you kidding? Not a chance. Gambling is a waste of money. Hey, I wonder if the state has already calculated the loss of income from this scam. I hope they put forth those initiatives that will make this industry unprofitable and hold them accountable for the social problems they will cause.

I’ve been to Vegas on business, played a few slots, but not much. I’ll probably go the a casino here more to eat at a nice place or see a show rather than gamble. I’m not afraid to put money back in our economy at the casino-but who says I have to gamble to do so?

Ohio is about to learn that the old adage is true - “A fool and his money are soon parted”

As far as I can tell, common sense should dictate how much one take into a casino. Fate and luck dictates how much one takes out of the casino. When you understand that, then each person should be permitted as much trouble or entertainment as he/she feels entitled. Heck yes, I’ll frequent the Ohio casinos.

Ummm… NO!!! I have better things to do with my money. with the economy being what it is, I would think others would be a little more eager to pich that penny. And not to mention what this will do to increase crime in this state. For those who do not think crime will increase.. well, your an idiot!

If this had been done correctly I would have. I don’t like 2 guys having a monopoly, and I don’t like only the big cities benefiting.

I may look at Columbus, but I will not in cincinnati. As I feel they will not be able to ahndle the traffic effectively, nor prtect us there, and it is just as far for me to go to indiana. Cincinnati should not have been picked.

No, I don’t believe in gambling in the first place. In the second place I believe that too many families are struggling enough now and this is just going to cause more problems!

Yes, of course! I believe the casinos will bring more good than harm to Ohio. It’s like anything else…if you don’t have the money, then don’t participate. If you’re able, then support Ohio rather than giving $$ to Indiana.

This is a personal opinion. Casinos are going to exist whether you participate or not. citizens in Indiana will benefit from our locals who like that entertainment. Not everyone will lose their shirts but lose the amount that you spend buying a case of good wines or fine dining. Don’t knock the idea because you don’t like it. It will bring revenue to the state to fix streets, support people in general. I am a witness of 34 years
