Was star surfer’s death due to drugs or Dengue fever?
Methadone and prescription drugs were found on a nightstand near the body of three-time world champion surfer Andy Iron, according to Honolulu’s Star Advertiser.
Now his death in a Texas hotel earlier this week is being investigated as a possible overdose of methadone.
Methadone is a powerful pain killer also used to treat withdrawal symptoms in patients who are addicted to opiate drugs.
Iron, who was laid over at the airport hotel after withdrawing from a surf contest in Puerto Rico, suffered from dengue fever, a virus spread by mosquitoes.
Just 32, Iron was one of the best known names in surfing.
And the intrigue grows…

This is irresponsible. The man was about to have a child and leaves behind a distraught family. I could care less what you say but for some reason you have ended up on the front page of Google results so everyone should know this is speculative garbage.

Dengue fever is usually treatable. Drug abuse is a bit harder.

How can people be so cruel with such comments. Andy was a great surfer. stop saying stupidities and have more respect for his family. God Bless you Andy, I know you are surfing in a better place. My son admired you and looked up to you. Barbara
