Father of figure skater dies, her brother is charged

This falls into the category of tragic.

The father of figure-skating champ Nancy Kerrigan is dead and her brother has been charged.

Mark Kerrigan, 45, was arraignment Monday on an assault and battery charge, according to the Associated Press.

He was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail.

Daniel Kerrigan was reportedly found lying unconscious on the floor of the Massachusetts home he shares with his son.

He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Mark Kerrigan was “belligerent and combative” when questioned by police, according to the AP story. He was pepper sprayed before being arrested.

Police say the two Kerrigan men struggle in the kitchen of the home. The older man collapsed.

The story gets a little tacky in the last paragraph. Is this guy’s death just another example of “juicy celebrity news?” Maybe take that paragraph out when yuor talking about the beating death of a guy who really wasn’t a celebrity.

Maybe Tonya Harding was in on it, too. Get over it Portland. She’s a hack. Seen her picture lately? Woah!

That last paragraph is automatically attached to ALL stories posted to this section. Figure it out KerryFo(ol).

Just because the last paragraph is “automatically attached to ALL stories posted to this section” doesn’t mean that it is not incredibly tack and bad journalism.
