During a guest host spot on NBC’s “Today” Thursday, Jan. 7, the Brit and fellow judge said he’ll miss the troubled, but well-liked star.

Morgan told Hoda Kotb that David Hasselhoff was at first leery of him, but became a friends.

In an earlier statement, NBC wished Hasselhoff good luck.

“David’s been an integral part of the success of America’s Got Talent, and we are sad to see him go,” NBC said in a statement according to USMagazine.com

Hasselhoff is pursuing his own show.
