MTV pulls the plug on TRL
The final episode of TRL is right around the corner, set to air in November, according to MTV. The two-hour special has yet to be scheduled, but save your Saturday afternoons. Two hours of a show dedicated to videos? MTV has lost its mind.
The show premiered in 1998 with Carson Daly as host, and helped break big acts such as Britney, Christina and Justin T. Daly left for his own talk show in 2003, and the revolving band of hosts hasn’t kept things all that fresh.
So. Who’s sad? You’ll be surprised: “I’m going to miss TRL,” Eminem, who graced the show’s Times Square studio many times over the years, said in a statement. “Where else will I be able to start feuds, defend my honor vigorously and act like an angry teenager on national TV? Oh wait … the VMAs!”
Starting in November, new and viewer-tested videos will continue to have a home on the Pete Wentz-hosted FNMTV, featuring a pretaped combo of videos and in-studio performances, which had a successful 15-episode run on Friday nights this summer

Megan Fox kissed a girl!

But she didn’t sing about it for the masses — instead, she talks about it in a national magazine.
Megan Fox’s GQ’s cover is hitting the stands; inside, “Transformers” star Fox, 22, talks of loving (yes, that way) a stripper named Nikita and makes no apologies for her sexy, sometimes silly roles.
First, about Nikita: “Well, that year my boyfriend broke up with me, and I decided — oh man, sorry, Mommy! — that I was in love with this girl that worked at the Body Shop,” Fox told GQ. “I decided that I was going to get her to love me back, and I went out of my way to create a relationship with this girl.”
Next, her career goals: “If I get stuck doing comic book films for the rest of my life, I’ll be really happy. I love those types of movies. And I don’t mind being sexy — if it’s a character with a back story and an arc and something progresses.”
Fox is also on the cover of Maxim, but her reps say the magazine proceeded without her cooperation, purchasing older photos that already have run in other magazines. According to a Maxim rep: “Megan Fox is a talented actor and a favorite of our 13 million readers and we’re pleased to recognize her accomplishments in the October issue with this beautiful photo portfolio.”

Cindy McCain strikes back at “The View”
If you missed “The View” on Friday, you missed a lot — mainly the third degree given John and Cindy McCain by members of that hard-hitting quartet, who asked about everything from Gov. Sarah Palin to home ownership to the separation of church and state.
At one point, Joy Behar told McCain that two of his campaign ads are “untrue … they’re lies.” Later, when McCain mentioned that he wanted to appoint Supreme Court justices who “strictly interpret” and “enforce” the Constitution, Goldberg asked: “Do I have to be worried about becoming a slave again?”
“In spite of what you see … in the newspapers, and on shows like The View — I don’t know if any of you saw The View yesterday, they picked our bones clean — in spite of what you see, that’s not what the American people are saying and what they are believing,” Cindy said over the weekend at a Republican event in Michigan.
She continued, “They are now seeing a clear difference with these candidates, and they are seeing who is going to make the best President, and that’s why we’re pulling ahead.” If you’re curious as to what she’s all ticked about, here’s a taste. (Part 1 of 3 -YouTube has them all.)
