The Pendleton car hoods - your take?

So the town seems to be abuzz about the car hoods that are expected to adorn the new Pendleton Art Center. I was never much of a car enthusiast beyond the songs the Beach Boys sang, but I certainly think it’s a bold idea. Whether it’s an attractive idea or not remains to be seen …

Yea or nay on the car hoods?

Tacky, flea market gimmick similar to the atmosphere at Traders World. This idea goes hand in hand with the other ideas that have contributed to the town’s fall from grace as to image in the last 40 years. We use to be a respectable hard working, blue collar steel town. Now, we have the “Girls Gone Wild”, You Tube jokes about council and now this gaudy idea of art? Who’s running this show, Sanford and Son? We’ll get recognition all right, the wrong kind.

Not sure about hoods. What about hundreds of hood ornaments, instead? Either way, I don’t really care…and neither will anyone else because NO ONE WILL GO DOWNTOWN!

I think this idea is tacky. Why does Middletown always have to settle for things like this? Why can’t we have a beautifully refurbished building that looks upscale, neatly landscaped & clean?

The hood idea is silly. It’s going to look like a flea market after they start rusting or worse. Something more simple would be better, so you can make note of the paper and rolled steel process which Middletown is known for.
