Area groups benefit from Fine Arts Fund grants
Several Butler and Warren County organizations have benefited from $89,200 in Project Support Grants by the Fine Arts Fund.
Twenty-nine organizations will receive grants ranging from $700 to $8,500 for arts programming in the tri-state. Since its beginning in 1978, the Grants Program has awarded over $4.7 million to more than 350 regional art groups.
Among the area organizations:
Acting Up, Young Performers Community Theater of Mason received $2,000 to purchase microphone sets for the upcoming performance of Annie Jr.
Mason Community Players, Inc. received $700 to make the production of The Lion in Winter as authentic as possible by funding the musical accompaniment performed by Musici Anonymi a Consort, a group that specializes in medieval music.
Miami Film Association received $4,000 for the 2009 Oxford International Film Festival, which will present over 100 new short and feature-length independent feature films from around the globe for four days this July.
