Jewett hospitalized with illness

Apparently mold can be pretty dangerous.

Butler County Administrator Bruce Jewett was hospitalized late last week — apparently later in the same day he announced he was leaving to take the Butler County United Way president/CEO position — due to what’s believed to be bronchitis.

This was discussed at the Butler County Commission meeting prior to the start.

While on vacation recently the place he had rented had a mold issue and that activated the health issue.

Office of Management and Budget Director Pete Landrum, who’s been filling in for Jewett on the commissioners’ dais, said he’s expected to be out of the hospital on today, May 16.

Jewett will take over the top spot at the county United Way on June 6. The Butler County Commissioners had an executive session to discuss the process to find a new administrator.
