In light of Cinco de Mayo and some of those in the Hispanic community that want to ensure the focus of the Mexican holiday is correctly placed on family celebration (story here), here’s a list of the top beer-buying holidays in America.
According to a March CNBC article, the top beer-buy holidays are:
Fourth of July: 63.5 million cases sold
Memorial Day: 61.0 million cases sold
Labor Day: 60.2 million cases sold
Fathers Day: 57.7 million cases sold
Cinco de Mayo: 54 million cases sold
Thanksgiving: 52.8 million cases sold
Christmas: 52.8 million cases sold
Halloween: 50.9 million cases sold
Easter: 50.7 million cases sold
Super Bowl: 49.2 million cases sold
St. Patrick’s Day: 48.7 million cases sold
July 4th, Memorial Day and Labor Day were also the top beer-buying holidays in America in 2009, according to the Nielsen Company. Cinco de Mayo was not included on that list.
