Engineer to close road for culvert work
ST. CLAIR TWP. — Beginning Tuesday, the Engineer’s office will close Augspurger Road for a series of three culvert replacements between Jackson and Gephart roads, and a fourth just east of Gephart Road.
Crews will begin at the westernmost culvert and work east.
Work time will vary and the following reopening dates are estimates:
The first culvert — Located 0.1 mile east of Jackson Road and 0.5 mile west of Gephart Road. Closing date: Tuesday. Approximate opening date: Friday, April 29.
The second culvert — Located 0.3 mile east of Jackson Road and 0.3 mile west of Gephart Road. Approximate closing date: Friday, April 29. Approximate opening date: May 4.
The third culvert — Located 0.4 mile east of Jackson Road and 0.2 mile west of Gephart Road. Approximate closing date: May 4. Approximate opening date: May 9.
The fourth culvert — Located five feet east of Gephart Road and 0.8 mile west of Timmy Drive. Approximate closing date: May 9. Approximate opening date: May 11.
The detour for all four culvert replacements is as follows: Eastbound Augspurger Road traffic will detour north on U.S. 127, northeast on Trenton Road and Riverside Drive, and south on Wayne Madison Road. Westbound traffic will reverse this route.
