Detour in St. Clair Twp.

BLOG UPDATE AT 6:22 P.M. APRIL 23: THIS HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE CLOSURE WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR JUNE.

In an attempt to be helpful as well as informative, I’m going to try to include some traffic detours as they come across my desk from the Butler County Engineer’s Office.

Here’s one in St. Clair Twp.:

The Butler County Engineer’s Office will close all four legs of the intersection at Jacksonburg and Morganthaler roads for about a week beginning Monday, May 2 for minor adjustments to the roundabout.

The detour for Jacksonburg Road is: northbound Jacksonburg Road traffic will detour northwest on U.S. 127 and east on Taylor School Road; southbound traffic will reverse this route.

The detour for Morganthaler Road is: eastbound Morganthaler Road traffic will detour south on U.S. 127 and northwest on Trenton Road and Riverside Drive; westbound traffic will reverse this route.

And for those visual people, I’ve included a map. Click the thumbtack for details. Let me know if this helps.

Well I certainly hope they make some adjustments that will improve the roundabout. I live in this area and it currently looks terrible. It was a poor job to begin with and then someone has driven over it and there are tire tracks on at least two sides. I hope whomever does the one at Trenton/Busenbark does a better job on it than was done on the one at Jacksonburg/Morganthaler.

I think cameras need to be installed to catch the people who destroy the roundabouts. It looked nice for about a day. Our tax dollars at work, fixing someone’s irresponsible and wreckless actions.

I think they should put a statue of Greg Wilkens in the middle of the roundabout’s.
