Is Lang boxed in a corner?
The federal government seemingly has West Chester Twp. Trustee George Lang boxed in a corner. The government’s attorneys say they have a pretty solid case against the two-term trustee, according to the latest court document.
According to a Tuesday filing, the government says it has indisputable evidence Lang lied while under oath about knowing Jim Smith was an employee of Dynus Technologies. He apparently lied while testifying in August 2009 during the Orlando Carter trial (Carter was the owner and president of the now defunct company).
Now remember, everyone is innocent until proven guilty … so based on this filing, and the confidence of Lang’s attorneys, it should make for an interesting trial. Lang faces up to five years in federal prison if found guilty of the lone perjury charge.
Lang’s attorneys maintain his innocence and say they will prove it in court, which the jury selection starts Monday morning, Jan. 31. The trial could begin that afternoon and may last until Friday, Feb. 4.
Lang’s denial of knowing Smith was an employee is indisputable as evident by the testimony given. Transcripts show he said a number of times he either thought he was a consultant or just flat out said he didn’t know he was an employee.
Now here’s what the government has on Lang, 45, according to this filing:
Documents from Lang’s companies. Lang did all the employee benefit work for Dynus and Lang’s company, Performance Benefits Solutions, enrolled Smith for benefits on Sept. 3, 2004.
Lang introduced Smith to various Butler County and West Chester Twp. officials “as the chief marketing officer or general manager at Dynus.”
A Dec. 6, 2004, e-mail indicates Lang referred to Smith and Carter as the “leadership” of Dynus.
Then during the Carter trial, Smith and former Butler County Republican Party executive chair Scott Owens testified Smith was an employee, and Lang allegedly paid Smith $100,000 in kickbacks (it’s a kickback because he was an Dynus employee).
Okay, now what are your thoughts on all this?

Because, Kay Rogers plead out and assisted the government, so they can start to bring justice to the butler county mafia..which she complained about and it went on deaf ear….or maybe she did it as a cover up and assited the Fed’s to bring them all down including Lynnie and Chuckie…save the biggest thieves for last!

They’re Republicans, and this is Butler Co., Ohio, so none of them will go to jail. We’re just wasting money on these trials.
