Comedians poke fun at Boehner

Speaker of the House-elect John Boehner is fair game with it comes to the late-night comedians, political cartoons and every politically slanted news program (i.e., many pundits on MSNBC and Fox News).

We published on Sunday about Boehner’s turn in the comedian gauntlet that is late-night programming.

Here are a few clips:

Boehner is an embarrssment to the state and the nation. I for one cannot understand why the people of Ohio would reward such a person for doing absoloutely nothing the entire time he has been in office. He is a loser regardless and a incompentent and no good public servant. When will the people Ohio wake up and stop handing over our government to these corrupt low lifes?

Paul, the only embarrassment here is you. You for one wouldn’t understand anything because you have no clue what your talking about. Boehner, both as a township trustee and a young congressman, played a pivotal role in the growth of West Chester. He’s also played an important role in pushing through the Medahl Power Plant project for Hamilton. Yes, he has made some huge mistakes, but what office holder hasn’t? People who claim he’s done nothing because he doesn’t take earmarks are out of touch with reality. He is now going to battle to cut the budget, repeal the UNCONSTITUTIONAL healthcare law among other things. If he fails, he won’t be back at speaker. When will you learn some facts instead of repeating talking points. You probably don’t even live in the 8th Ohio District

It is O.k. to poke a little fun. I mean a little. If they get wild about it they will hear from me as well as many Boehner supporters. I am pleased to see Congressman Boehner step up as Speaker. It is so vital that we see the healthcare bill pulled down, the net-neutrality thing with the FCC snuffed and the Fairness Doctrine that is not fair filed in 13. I am 100% against amnesty and for strong border control. I am for gun rights. I am pleased and proud for John Boehner!

It is not uncommon for the comedy people to poke fun at the successful politicians. I am a very proud supporter of John Boehner. There are so many issues to deal with considering the Obama Admin. and the damage they have caused. I don’t want govt. controlling everything about me. It was not intended to. The healthcare bill should be repealed. That net-neutrality thing should be burned. The unsavory characters OBama has hanging with him like George Soros, Mayor Bloomberg of New York, Van Jones, Cass Sunstein and others hiding from the Acorn Gang should be watched. Anyway, I am so pleased that we will address Congressman Boehner as Mr. Speaker. Congrats, Mr. John!

We will be watching Boehner and his performance. We will also jump all over the man as we did Bush and as the Repubs are doing to Obama. Turn about is fair play in political bashing. And to you, Libs call name, the accomplishments of Boehner since he was a Township trustee are miniscule compared to his long-term tenure attempting to represent us here in SW Ohio. Not something to brag about in relation to his time in office. He may have helped build West Chester, but he completely forgot about the rest of Butler County. Doesn’t want anything to do with Hamilton or Middletown. He has done nothing in those areas. He represents tobacco and other lobbyists and ignores the people. His focuse has always been in Washington, not local. We are not important to him. He is bad for this area and it’s people.

Get real people. The health care law is not getting repealed anytime soon. I’m not saying this as a liberal or a conservative in favor of or against it…it’s just a matter of looking at the numbers and applying common sense: The Republicans don’t even have enough votes in the Senate to get a bill passed without support from Democratic Senators. Even if they did manage to get a bill through the House and Senate, the President has Veto power, and the GOP definitely does not have a veto-proof majority in Congress. What’s going to get done over the next few years? Gridlock, plain and simple.

I’m sure that Mr. Boehner and the others trying to repeal health care being the religous group that they are know that if Jesus wanted them poor little kids to have health care he would have healed them himself. If God had wanted them well he would have had em born to the rich people like us that have health care. Keep up the Lord’s work John!

rstone should read history and the Bible, then maybe the ignorant comments would abate. If B. O. wants re-elected, or any of the Democratic politicians for that matter, they will have to confront the fact that over 70% of Americans do not want THIS health care bill. Eventually, this bill will fall apart. The ignorant rantings of rtstone are confirm that the ones who are for this bill have no clue what is in it.

Ohio, BY LAW, requires its citizens to have auto insurance in order to operate a motor vehicle. So you will require I insure my property, but not my health. When did property become more important than life? The argument that government should NOT force laws onto its citizens that require us to purchase a product just don’t hold water for me. Would someone help me understand the difference? I am open-minded and will reserved condemning any LAW until I fully understand why one law is allowed and another is bad for us.

With a name like “Libs call name” I guess we can’t expect much from you. He’s been congressman for how long and he got one plant to come here? How about listing what he has done instead of just insulting other people?

Ed: Ohio, or any state, that requires you to carry auto insurance to register a car (not to operate one), does so to protect other persons and their property, that could fall victim to an accident caused by the driver of your registered vehicle. This is called liability insurance, which may also protect you (indirectly) from financial ruin. Ohio does not require you to carry auto insurance to protect your car - however, if you owe a creditor for money borrowed to pay for your car, the lending institution may very well require you to carry collision and comprehension insurance to protect their interest in the property while you still owe them money on it. - This is the difference you seek.

“By Law” Ohio does NOT REQUIRE you to have automobile insurance. Ohio LAW requires you provide proof of Financial Responsibility (FR). That may be in the form of insurance, a bond or approved collateral. As Jim said, this FR is not to protect YOU but to protect others in the case your misjudgment or irresponsibility causes “Bodily Injury” or “Property Damage” while operating a motor vehicle. Why is the state law worded as such? Because it would be illegal for the State to force an individual to purchase anything, including INSURANCE. – Look it up!

The fun and jokes are O.k. They will not change the fine work Mr. Speaker has before him. He understands the damage done by the healthcare bill and he represents a majority of us who want the bill stopped one way or another! The net neutrality thing must be stopped. The effort to convince the public that free speech regarding political views is not going to fly, either.
