County Commission to entertain January budget
The Butler County Commission will hear a presentation today on the 2011 budget for both general and non-general funds.
Not included in any of the options to be presented is the 2011 potential revenue losses due to state budget cuts/reductions, according to a PowerPoint presentation handout. They include:
• $4.4 million in local government funds
• $1.5 million in personal property tax
• $0.9 million in attorney fee reimbursements
For 2011, this would potentially be about half the annual amount but would depend on how the state would implement the reductions, according to OMB Director Pete Landrum.
The Budget Commission reduced its revenue certificate for the local government fund by half for the second half of 2011.
The proposed January budget will be just more than $5.06 million.
The annual amount payment for Job and Family Services, lease payments, bond and note payments, health insurance and workers compensation will be also be appropriated in the one-month budget. Those annual payments total just under $16.97 million.
The remaining budget is just more than $56.1 million, which includes a total of $455,977 of “on-hold” items (and that includes funding for MetroParks).
More to come as the Commission begins to talk about the budget.
