The fiscal negiligence of the Commissioners just goes on and on. Why not raise the sales tax to the levels of surrounding counties? I haven’t noticed the long lines of people traveling to Butler County to save a their half-pennies. Raising the tax seems to be the only responsible thing to do. Or are they running things into the ground so they can force consolodation of all gov’t here into a single unit, with a single giant budget, so that when things clear up they can control all the money without any meddlesome oversight?

Nobody should be getting pay raises when the County has a budget deficit. Pay freezes until the economy recovers. Where is the Tea Party when you need them?

The County claims to have one of the lowest sales tax rates. That’s true, but what the Commissioners are not telling us is that Butler County spends more per resident than just about any other county in the state. The Commissioners’ own citizens workgroup made that finding. That means that although Butler County has a low sales tax rate, it over taxes its citizens in other, less visible ways.

Dear Ethics Watch, You are the Tea Party. Turn the TV off get up from the couch and get involved. The time for yelling at the tv is over. Do something. This is our country and our government “we the people” have a responsibility too.

yes…they spend too much. But why do we accept their own explanation about how it was spent? might be interesting for an independent person to look at the books and find out how it is really spent. follow the money!

Why are the County Commissioners not doing what is best for the County. Are they just concerned with their re-election ? The sales tax increase just makes sense. It is the fair tax, everyone pays, even those from surrounding Counties.

No worries, there will be a tax increase, after January. The new Comish will roll up her sleeves and put her floaties on, because the only way out will be a tax increase. She is going to get the responsibility she wanted and tough decisions along with it. The tax issue isn’t over yet, just postponed.

Why is it that Sheriff Jones and is Merry Band of Deputies are the only ones supporting this so call “Fair” tax. Jones and all of his lazy deputies are useless.
