Many illegal immigrants ‘crowding’ county jail are not from Butler County

In a recent Cincinnati Enquirer article, Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones made a comment he has repeated frequently:

“We deport anywhere from 30 to 50 people a week here in Butler County,” he said.

His argument has long been that he became so involved in the issue of illegal immigration because illegal immigrants were filling up his jail.

It’s worth noting that, according to sheriff’s office statistics, most of the illegal immigrants in the county jail are prisoners arrested in other parts of the country whose stay is paid for by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In 2009, there were 2,823 inmates in the county jail put there and paid for by ICE, according to county records.

That same year, there were 68 foreign-born inmates not arrested or brought in by ICE.

everyone acts as if these illegals are so mistreated.they have invaded our country.they get welfare even though they have never paid into anything.if we went to mexico, took their work and tried to make a life there at their expense, they would literally cut our heads off and throw our lifeless bodies in a ditch.arizona’s law is very tame, mexico has much more stringent laws in place to deal with same issues in their country.

I am curious as to what jobs Americans are losing to illegal immigrants? Does anyone know someone who has specifically lost a job to an illegal? Please provide more info so we can direct our anger at that employer.

By E-Verify would be a start

ImmigrationReform - The raid on Koch Foods in Fairfield was a great example. Take a look at housing. Wages have been suppressed for years due to illegal aliens. One fine Butler County resident even had the audacity to applaud her fathers’ local drywall company here last year for hiring illegals because of their low-cost and work “ethic”. Roofing companies and landscapers are also well known for doing it. And it won’t take you long to see that jobs that were once typically filled by teenagers (who now have the highest unemployment rate of all) are now being filled by high numbers of Hispanics. That’s not to say all are illegal, but high numbers at certain restaurants and fast food eateries alone suggest more than a few are. If you want to put pressure on employers, then push those segments to have them proudly display signage that they use E-Verify to hire employees.

Shannon - If you’ve been around Mexican’s for 18 years, then does that imply that you’ve harbored illegal aliens too? Regardless, whether you want to admit it or not, illegal aliens - of all nationalities in this country, do receive a host of government provide social services, including those from non-profit charities. Obama’s Aunt is a great example as she failed to leave the U.S. when told and continued to live in her govt supported apartment all while receiving extensive medial care for years. You should also spend some time familiarizing yourself with the free access to college educations illegals increasingly receive (one just made the news at Harvard). And who pays for it all? Taxpayers, and more importantly, disadvantaged legal citizens who have to compete with illegals for those spots.

“Mexico’s Immigration Laws” There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools. All ballots will be in this nation’s language. All government business will be conducted in our language. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office 6 Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any burden will be deported. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum w age. If foreigners come here and buy land… options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country. 9.. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted &, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you. Too strict?…… The above laws are current immigration laws of MEXICO

Barack Obama and his Democrats are trying to crush the will of the people of Arizona by sueing them for passing a law to protect their citizens. Obama also plans to pass Amnesty for illegals to get their Democrat votes. The illegals will vote Democrat for the entitlements and freebies. Guess who will pay for Obama’s new voters? The illegals already cost us taxpayers more than 338.3 Billion every year. Remember what Obama and his far left allies are doing when you push those voting booth buttons this November! “Support Arizona – Shop Local Arizona Businesses” Below is a site containing Arizona businesses! http://localfirstaz.com/news/2010/05/19/support-arizona-business/

Ignoring, for the moment, their disastrous impact on our schools and hospitals, let’s take a look at illegal alien crime statistics: In Los Angeles, 95% of 1,500 outstanding warrants for homicides are for illegal aliens. About 67% of the 17,000 outstanding fugitive felony warrants are for illegal aliens. There are currently over 400,000 unaccounted for illegal alien criminals with outstanding deportation orders. At least one fourth of these are hard-core criminals. 80,000 to 100,000 illegal aliens who have been convicted of serious crimes are walking the streets. On average, they will commit 13 serious crimes per perpetrator. Depending on the location, illegal aliens are involved in criminal activities at a rate that is between 2-5 times greater than their representative proportion of the population. Do we really want illegal aliens in our country? … I didn’t think so…

It’s not just Arizona that is passing laws to stop illegals from invading our nation. In 2007, Missouri placed on the ballot a proposed constitutional amendment designating English as the Official language of Missouri. Nearly 90% voting in favor! English became the official language for ALL governmental proceeding in Missouri. It also means no individual has the right to demand government services in a language OTHER than English. In 2008 a measure was passed that requires the Missouri Highway Patrol and other law enforcement officials to verify the immigration status of any person arrested, and inform federal authorities if the person is found to be here illegally. It allows Missouri law enforcement offices to receive training to enforce federal immigration laws. The bill makes it clear that illegal immigrants will NOT have access to taxpayers benefits such as food stamps and health care through Missouri HealthNET. In 2009 a measure was passed that ensures Missouri’s public institutions of higher education do NOT award financial aid to individuals who are here illegally. The law also requires all post-secondary institutions of higher education to annually certify to the Missouri Dept. of Higher Education that they have NOT knowingly awarded financial aid to students who are unlawfully present in the United States. So while Arizona has made national news for its new law, it is important to remember Missouri has been proactive in addressing this growing problem. Missouri has sent a clear message that illegal immigrants are NOT welcome in our state and they are certainly NOT welcome to receive public benefits at the cost of Missouri taxpayers! Please help fight illegal immigration in Ohio. Make the following two contacts and ask them to support Ohio’s E-Verify bill. Armond Budish - Speaker of the House, (614) 466-5441 district08@ohr.state.oh.us Sandra S. Hardwood - Judiciary Chairwoman, (614) 466-3488 district65@ohr.state.oh.us TALKING POINTS: Please ensure that HB 184, the mandatory E-Verify bill – gets a fair up-or-down vote in the Judiciary Committee. It took over 20 years to create today’s illegal immigration crisis, and it may take another ten to substantially reduce our current illegal population, but enacting HB 184 this session will start Ohio down that road. This will protect legal workers from unfair foreign labor competition, free up illegal-alien jobs for unemployed Americans, reduce illegal-alien crime, and lessen the burden on taxpayers during this recession. Your constituents are counting on you — please don’t let us down! Looking for your support,

Koch Foods executives were not prosecuted. You mention several “general” industries that “stereotypically” hire illegals, but mentioned no specific names here locally except the Golden Corral. Please list more specifics. If the Sheriff does not go after these employers, then what is his role in this? Ok, we all boycott Koch Foods and the Golden Corral (owned by Frisch’s). Should we be boycotting Frisch’s also? Let’s keep the ball rolling, any more specifics? Do you know of any American that has lost his job at Golden Corral to an illegal? Any American roofers that have lost their job to an illegal? Which roofer fired the American worker and hired the illegal worker? Name names so we can boycott them too. Now we are getting somewhere, rather than just whining. Sheriff, it is your duty to arrest the Frisch’s managers that are blatantly firing Americans so they can hire illegals, get busy.

USMC, Don Gabbard has not been our Sheriff for several years. The current Butler County Sheriff is Rick Jones. Perhaps you have seen Rick on the Arizona local news programs, or pulling Security detail at a local Tea Party meeting. I say we form a protest group and all meet up at Frisch’s corporate offices with our Tea Party signs and hats and get this illegal hiring at the Golden Corral stopped. Those of you (American only) that want jobs, should come down to Frisch’s HQ also, I am sure they will hire you on the spot to replace the illegals the the Sheriff rounds up at the Golden Corral. Let’s do this!

Wow! I didn’t know that ICE pays for jail space. That certainly gives new insight into the reason Jones is so bent on rounding up Mexicans. The added revenue doesn’t excuse his fueling of a hate campaign. During bad economic times, everyone’s looking for someone to blame and Jones seems to have chosen Mexicans as his “whipping dog”. This is a poverty stricken area that is ripe for his self-serving racist rheteric. There are many hard working American citizens in our county who are of Mexican decent. Jones’ war against “illegal immigrants” is creating hostility in our county and is fueling racism.

When I hear anyone say that illegals are taking jobs from Americans, I always ask this question and I’ve never gotten answer. “Give me the name of one person you know who lost their job to an illegal alien?”

By E-Verify...

June 24, 2010 3:53 PM | Link to this

Question - Yours is a typical, tired reply that is easily answered by the local raid on Koch Food. If illegal’s weren’t hired for those jobs, legal residents would have been or did you forget part of their defense — they were duped into hiring them because of fake I.D.’s, etc which is another story. In all seriousness, to deny illegals aren’t taking away jobs and other income away from legal residents is ludicrous especially given that millions reside in this country. Your attempt to defend that it doesn’t happen because no one’s given you a name, is even more so. Implementing E-Verify, and supporting only those businesses that use it would be a great step forward to ensure that they aren’t hired. Your comments suggest you’d fight that too.

Thank you so much Josh!!Finally- someone sees through his smoke.Jones started this whole campaign to help fill his 2nd jail- that should have never been remodeled. Voters were originally told we needed the 22 million dollar jail, because the old one couldn’t be renovated. He told Partners in Prime that he started this because his jails were full of Hispanics. In an interview with Dayton Daily News- he said his jails would always be vacant, and that he turned down local prisoners so he could get regional ICE contracts. There may be 30-50, but they’re not from Butler county.

To Paraphrase Immigration Reform’s twisted logic — If an illegal fills a U.S. job and no one is able to name a legal U.S. resident who lost out on filling it, then there’s no job loss to U.S. residents. I’m ROTFLMAO. They also apparently don’t realize that they’ve answered their own questions: Koch Food. And had they not used 161 illegals to fill them, those jobs would have gone to legal residents.

My twisted logic says that if someone knows of a place that hires illegals, then lets turn that employer in to the Sheriff and punish them with jail time and severe fines that discourages said employer from repeating. Should Koch Foods executives have done jail time? I say “Hell Yes” they should have. Why didn’t they? Ask your Sheriff? Ask John Boehner?

Sheriff Jones doesn’t arrest & house illegal’s, his deputies do - he spends all day in the media spotlight tooting his own horn. Butler county now has TWO jails and SUCKS the money from the feds to keep the jails open. What keeps his jails packed is Judge Joyce Campbell of the city of Fairfield & the FPD - locking people up by the dozens for minor infringements such as sleeping in the park, loud muffler, etc.

There are two types of immigrants, legal and illegal. Period. We know where the problem is because we don’t hear of the flood illegal Indian, Korean or Eritean immigrants. I am simply too tired of the whole mess to pick between good and bad, criminal and law abiding, lazy and good work ethic. Send them all home or put them in labor camps so they can work for free. In any case, until the risk is great enough for them to continue disrespecting our laws, our borders and our way of life (rule of law) they will continue coming. I have been to Mexico many times over the past decades and i do not want the US to become that. Illegals are not interested in assimilating and usually do not. This makes them bad neighbors and keeps them from productive lives in the US. It may be good for the recipients of US funds back at home, but it is bad for the US. At the very least, we should mirror Mexico’s (racist and Latino-centric) laws. That way there is no complaining. I am moving to Germany in a few months. There I must have a job (!), register with the police, pay soc. security and other taxes and abide by there laws. My son must attend school. It makes it difficult for someone moving abroad, but that is the price you pay. Our illegal friends should pay the price, too.

Did I read this correctly, “That same year, there were 68 foreign-born inmates not arrested or brought in by ICE”? If my math is better than ole Spotlight Jones’, that equates to less than 6 illegal immigrants per month arrested by law enforcement agencies in this county. All I can say is wow, this man has lost all credibility. He is building his political platform folks with lies and fuzzy math, his finance director also might be doing the counting for him, who knows her math is a little fuzzy to. I surely hope there is another person waiting in the wing to run for sheriff in 2 years.
