RTA announces new job shuttle
Press release from Butler County RTA:
The Butler County Regional Transit Authority (Butler County RTA) is pleased to announce the introduction of a weekday Butler County Job Shuttle from the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Job Shuttle is open to the general public and is available for job and job related trips. The service is supported through a Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) federal operating grant awarded through the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI). The service will improve affordable access to jobs and job related activities along target areas of the I-75 corridor (see attached map and brochure). For a $5.00 one-way fare, workers and job seekers can call and schedule a trip for the curb-to-curb service. Reservations can be made at least one (1) day to two (2) weeks in advance. Availability is limited and reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dr. Joel Fink, Butler County RTA Board President, notes “The availability of reliable, affordable, and convenient public transportation is an important issue in Butler County. The Butler County RTA Board of Trustees is proud of our continued leadership in advancing low-cost, common sense solutions to providing access to critical jobs and quality of life services. Introduction of the Butler County Job Shuttle is an important step toward meeting that mission.”
Here is the release (which I’m including because the second page has a map of the new shuttle’s service area:
