Butler County roundup - While I was out
In case you haven’t noticed, my last week was monopolized by the debate on illegal immigration. In the meantime, there were a few major developments in Butler County that other reporters covered for me:
- The Butler County Republican Party ousted its chairman after John Boehner and others came out swinging against him.
- The Butler County Democratic Party is under new management as well.
- County commissioners may implement a new panel next year to review levy requests before they go to voters.
- County commissioners received some options for tackling a projected $4 million budget shortfall, but didn’t make a decision last week because Commission President Gregory Jolivette was absent.
Any thoughts on any of this?

Pretty nice post to spend some time on reading it to my thinking. I have a question, why haven’t you you place this article to social media? That will bring rather big traffic here.

how can county commissioners not show up for such important decisions. they talk about how hard these decisions are going to be, but then one of them doesn’t even show up? it’s mind boggling to me.
